A prayer from June 25

Lord,

Let everything we do this day come from you, be inspired by you. We are blessed to feel your presence and your love.

We long to be closer to you.

Help us to remember that nothing is important in our lives

unless it glorifies you in some way. Help us to let go of our comfortable settings and hold on to your teaching. Challenge each of us to reach out of our comfort zones and be better, faithful followers of you.

Let the sacrifices that each of us make be a way to help us clear away the clutter in our lives and see you more clearly.

Lord, we give special thanks today for our mission of the month, Meals on Wheels. They touch hundreds of lives by preparing and delivering nutritious meals to anyone, who for whatever reason, is in need of such a service so that they can stay independent in their own homes. Lord, we are so thankful to have them in our community.

Father, we are so blessed to be part of our amazing community of faith. We are joyful for the opportunity to join in celebration with those who are celebrating. And we hold in our prayers those who are going through difficult times – sickness, job losses, the death of a loved one or difficult times with family and loved ones.

Loving Father, forgive us for those things we have done which have caused you sadness, and for those things that we should have done that would have brought you joy. Bring us back to that place where our journey began when we said we would follow…
