“For I am the LORD, I do not change;”
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.”
We read these and countless other passages about Your changeless nature, O God. Though the world around us moves in a million directions, You are constant. Though things grow and fade, You are a firm foundation. Though all of history has been filled with change, and all of the future will be as well, You are always the same. You are the beginning and the end, the alpha and the omega, and Your love for us is as unwavering as You are, Lord. For that, we are ever grateful. May we grow in our ability to love as consistently as You love us. May we love without finding fault, forgiving all wrongs, not looking at relationships as transactions but as true community. May we never grow weary in doing good, just as You are perpetually good toward us.
In a spirit of love and kindness, we turn our attention away from ourselves and onto those around us who may be hurting, sick, and in need. Illness and loss are two of the toughest changes we can face in life.
