Introducing the DCC Road Warriors Program

Providing Rides, Building Community

Dewitt Community Church (DCC) is proud to introduce DCC Road Warriors, a new volunteer-driven transportation program dedicated to helping our congregation members get to and from medical appointments. This initiative reflects our commitment to care, connection, and community support. Through this program, DCC volunteers will provide rides to fellow congregation members who need transportation to doctor’s appointments. We invite both those in need of a ride and those willing to volunteer as drivers to participate.

For Congregation Members Requesting a Ride

For Volunteers Interested in Driving

If you are a DCC congregation member in need of a ride, please note the following:
  • You must be a member of DCC to request transportation through this program.
  • You must be ambulatory—able to enter and exit a vehicle independently and walk to the doctor’s office. (Canes or walkers may be brought and stored in the car.)
  • Drivers are volunteers and their sole responsibility is to drive; they are not expected to provide physical assistance.
  • Face masks are required for both drivers and riders to ensure everyone’s health and safety.
  • Once a driver is assigned, your name and contact information will be shared with them.
  • The driver will contact you directly to finalize the ride details.
If you are interested in volunteering as a driver for the DCC Road Warriors program:
  • Contact Craig Mabbett via phone, text, or email to be added to the volunteer driver list.
  • When a ride request is received, Craig will send an email to all registered drivers to see who is available.
  • Once a driver accepts the request, Craig will notify the group that the ride has been filled.
  • The assigned driver will then contact the congregation member directly to arrange the ride.
  • Drivers are only responsible for driving and coordinating logistics with the member. No lifting or physical assistance is required.
  • All participants are expected to wear face masks during the ride.
To request a ride, please fill out the form or contact Craig Mabbett and provide the following:
  • The date and time of your appointment
  • The name, address, and phone number of the doctor’s office or hospital
  • An estimated pickup time for your return trip home
