Chancel Choir

Director: Abel Searor
Rehearsal: Thursdays 7:00 – 8:00 PM & Sunday morning at 10:15 AM
Performance: Sunday Services

The chancel choir is made up of four section leaders and a dedicated group of volunteers. They meet on Thursday nights from 7-8 PM and provide vocal leadership as well as singing an anthem each week at the 11 AM service. There are no requirements for this group except that you enjoy singing and making music with others. We are always accepting new members. You don’t have to join at the beginning of the program year or be available every Sunday. Perhaps you could consider trying it out for Advent or joining us for the Dubois “Seven Last Words of Christ” which we will present on Good Friday.

Adult Bell Choir

Director: Abel Searor
Rehearsal: Thursdays 6:00 – 7:00 PM
Performance: Sunday Services

The Bell Choir is made up entirely of volunteers. They meet on Thursday nights from 6-7 PM in the choir room and present special music at the 11 AM service once a month during the program year. We have all levels of ability in the choir. Perhaps you are not able to commit to each week. Would you be willing to fill in for a member of the choir at rehearsal or on a Sunday if someone is away?

All rehearsals are held in DCC Choir Room, located below the sanctuary and accessed from the Narthex via the stairs to the lower level.

Sunday Music Ministry for Young People

This is a curriculum of hymns, songs, drama and music games that teach and reinforce scripture in addition to promoting music in worship, leadership and cooperation. We are dedicated to Christian growth using these times to encourage each other in our Christian walk. In addition to participation by all groups throughout the year in the worship services, we offer opportunities to share the Christ story in the Christmas Pageant.

Dewitt Community Church Children’s Choir 9:45-10:15 AM

All children Elementary through Grade 8 (able to read words)

Young people experience and share their joy of singing, express their love of God, and establish a commitment to excellence through sacred music education and performance. Music is selected to teach rhythm, expression, and beautiful singing. The children will grasp music concepts, while exploring worship and spiritual truths: God made us creative beings! Weekly rehearsal attendance will prepare the children to share their musical offering in worship.
