Rev. Dr. Mark E. Sommers

I have been the Senior Minister at DeWitt since 2008 and I am excited about what God is doing in this 205 year old congregation.  I believe that we have an incredible opportunity to connect people with Christ and to help people develop a real and vital faith that is transformational through the power of community.

As someone who did not grow up in a church family, but whose life was radically changed by the youth ministry of a local church, I am passionate about DeWitt being the kind of church that accepts people exactly where they are and loves them for who they are.  I believe that God’s spirit challenges us to continual growth and to serve others.  God works in us and through us as we open ourselves to His spirit.
